WELCOME TO THE
MARSHALLING DETACHMENT
HOME PAGE

The Marshalling Detachment is a specialized support unit of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) which provides trained personnel to ensure safe ground operations of aircraft of all types and sizes which may be encountered at CAF sponsored airshows.  These aircraft include propeller-driven, rotor-craft and modern military jets.  We are under the direct command of Headquarters, Commemorative Air Force and we shall at all times endeavor to perpetuate the aims and objectives of the CAF which are;

  1. To preserve, in flying condition, a complete collection of combat aircraft which were flown by all military services of the United States in World War II.
  2. To provide museum buildings for permanent protection and display of these aircraft as a tribute to the thousands of men and women who built, serviced and flew them.
  3. To perpetuate in the memory and hearts of all Americans the spirit in which these great planes were flown for the defense of our nation.
  4. To establish an organization having the dedication, enthusiasm and esprit de corps necessary to operate, maintain and preserve these aircraft as symbols of our American military aviation heritage.

The duties we perform at airshows include; movement of aircraft on the ramp, safety of the aircraft and pilots, safety of the spectators, and working with aircraft crews.

We invite you to visit the CAF Museum at Midland International Airport, Midland, Texas

While the Marshalling Detachment will continue to remember the gallantry of the military, fireman, policeman and ordinary citizens who risked and gave their lives on 9/11, today the Marshalling Detachment stands with our President and the Armed Forces of the United States in this war against terrorism.  Our prayers are with the men and women of the US military who remain in Iraq and Afghanistan, and with the families and loved ones of those service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and their country, as well as the wounded in the recent combat actions there.

God Bless America!
